A special guest will be joining us, to help lead and facilitate our time together.
The Rev. Anna Broadbent is currently the curate at St. James Cathedral in downtown Chicago. She leads the outreach ministries and young adults group. Anna graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary and was ordained to the transitional diaconate in the Diocese of Virginia before beginning her current position. She was ordained a priest at the St. James in December 2018.
In addition to her theological studies, Anna found a passion for providing spiritual care in places impacted by trauma. She is certified as a disaster response chaplain and is a certified Daring Way Facilitator (https://thedaringway.org). During seminary, Anna completed a certification in Criminal Justice and Reconciliation, which sparked her passion for working with individuals who are presently or formerly incarcerated.
Before seminary, Anna worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the District of Colombia, providing intensive in-home treatment to high-risk youth and their families. Anna also worked in youth ministry in her home parish.
Anna is passionate about healing and justice and brings extensive knowledge on healing and overcoming trauma to every ministry and event she leads. She will especially be a valued addition to the Women's Winter Gathering with her ability to listen (and hear) those around her, as well as maintaining a "protective" space for us to share our stories.
