St. Michaels Adult choir and guests from Chicago Master Singers will present a stunningly beautiful choral masterpiece, the Requiem setting by French composer Maurice Duruflé as part of a liturgical Mass for the dead remembering our departed loved ones. We are pleased to welcome guest organist Ricardo  Ramirez to play this virtuosic piece, along with the lush accompaniment of a string quintet. Duruflé completed this requiem setting in 1947, inspired greatly by Gregorian plainchant melodies, which he wrapped in the rich harmonic language of his contemporaries such as Debussy and Fauré. The service is a quiet place to contemplate grief, remember loved ones, and renew a sense of hope and peace. A special part of this worship service includes reciting aloud the names of our departed loved ones.

Please invite family, friends, and music lovers to this special service. May God's deep and everlasting peace surround you this day and always!
