Please put your donations in the Silver Wagon, in St. Michael's narthex, any day / week of the month. We distribute food collected in the Silver Wagon on the 3rd Sunday of every month.
Food prices and rent are increasing while support for those who struggle with food insecurity is uncertain. Food pantries in the area are facing a rising crisis as the need far exceeds the amount of food available. The Silver Wagon ministry is even more necessary in our current environment.
Donations brought throughout the year support four of our local food pantries: Barrington Township, Cuba Township, St. Vincent de Paul (Lake Zurich) and Palatine Township. Combined, these organizations serve 4,500-5,000 people each month, a 25% increase over last year.
