May the Fourth be With you… Happy Star Wars day everyone (May 4th)!  And Cinco de Mayo, and Happy Easter to our Orthodox brothers and sisters.  This week was eventful! The same is true for us at St. Michael’s: today I want to announce that Sara Torbeck will be stepping up to be our music director beginning May 15.  

Last year, the COVID budget realities meant that we had to cut costs.  As those realities are now changing and the world slowly begins to safely reopen, we are also looking forward to our common parish life once we can return to higher capacities and an increase in singing and music.  In asking Sara to join our team, I believe she brings additional skills and energy to St. Michael’s.  With Mark continuing at the organ console bringing his passion for music, and Sara bringing a fresh approach and new ideas along with her choral training, I believe that the worship life of St. Michael’s will only grow stronger as we begin to reopen and prepare for the fall.  

The guidelines from the diocesan office also continue to change with the changing pandemic, and you can look forward to additional singers and more outdoor activities as the weather permits.
