Happy Easter, St. Michael’s! I am coming off of the Holy Week and Easter high, and it was so good to have so many of you join us in person and online. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and I have enjoyed seeing many more of you in person over the last few weeks. In that spirit, I would like to point you below to read Ms. Kim’s article: we are resuming our nursery and in-person Sunday School on April 18. In order to prepare for the additional in-person worshippers, we have a couple of options for you.
In order to worship in the nave at 8am or 10am, please continue to make a reservation by clicking here. This not only keeps us within the diocesan capacity limit, but also gives us a way to contact you should we have a confirmed COVID-19 case some Sunday.
In addition to the nave, and to accommodate the additional people, we are opening the Community Room for additional seating, especially for our Sunday School kids and families. No reservation is needed, but we are going to ask you to sign in. The children will come up to the Community Room for communion. Children are always welcome in the nave as well, but only if you have a reservation.
My hope is that these changes allow us to have more people here on Sunday morning, while staying within the capacity limits. I hope it also provides flexible seating for anyone who might not have a reservation.
Finally, starting Sunday 4/18, we will discontinue our use of Zoom and move to a live-stream only. Zoom has been very helpful over the last year, but with the return of in-person worship the need to simply our worship offerings has grown. We will definitely still live-stream the services to Facebook and the church website, but there will not be a Zoom call after this next week. As we move further into a return to in-person gathering, I hope to find ways to continue our live-stream while simplifying our hardware and software setup each week.
