Virtual Annual Meeting Announcement, Link, and Ballot
Hello all! It is good to be back in Barrington after a couple of weeks in Arkansas, although the weather was better there! We had a great time, spending a week with my family and also a week with Katy’s family; everyone got see the grandkids! Naturally, I return and learn that a family member tested positive for COVID, and my subsequent at-home test showed positive as well, so I was unable to be with you on Sunday. I am waiting for my official test results, and hopefully by this Sunday will be past my isolation period and be with you in worship. Since I have received all three vaccination shots, I suspect my symptoms will remain mild and should pass within a few days.
Yesterday, the wardens and I decided that, looking at the COVID cases rise in our region, our annual meeting this year should once again be virtual. We will have it via Zoom on January 30, 1pm. In this email is the Zoom link and the ballot for our vestry candidate slate. You may vote early if you like, or wait to the meeting.
Other changes include no food and drink at church functions, with the exception of Communion in the individual cups. Masks are worn by everyone all the time now, including readers and preachers. Our live stream will continue, and we have plans to upgrade it to 1080p high definition (better quality) soon on Facebook, our website, and Vimeo. This assures us that we can worship together even if we cannot gather in person, or are separated by distance.
A part of me is saddened that we are still experiencing the effects of this pandemic even almost two years later. However, we know how to do this! We can meet, pray, study, and worship together virtually if necessary, and in-person whenever is possible. Keep up the faith, and please contact me if you need to talk; I am available by phone, zoom, or any other method really.
