A Note From Our Rector | St. Michael's Updates
Hello St. Michael’s! I have a couple of updates for you today.
Stewardship Sunday 10/31:
- Small change of plans… bring your costumes to church and change into them after the service for the luncheon. You can click here to fill out an online pledge card, or bring the paper copy back with you on 10/31 (or mail it!). This year, as we slowly return our parish life back to normal, it is with a cheerful and grateful heart that we approach stewardship this year. Sometimes it is the smallest of things: simply the chance to sing, the chance to receive bread and wine infused with Christ’s presence, smiling eyes atop masks, a cup of coffee outside. Our stewardship of what we have been gifted comes from that place of gratitude and joy- some share it with us.
Trunk-or-Treat
- We need you! With over 200 kids walking by our church building on Halloween from 4:30p to 7pm, sign up to help us hand out candy and hotdogs below.
COVID-19 updates:
- Our region continues to have very low numbers of positive COVID-19 cases; at my last look, we are under 2% test positivity and well below the 8% threshold set by the state. At vestry this week, we discussed St. Michael’s own mitigations and decided that going forward we will continue to wear masks as requested by the state, and begin to allow indoor food and beverages.
- I hope to keep coffee hour outdoors as long as possible, but when the weather becomes too cool we will move inside. Should we plan an indoor meal, we will attempt to seat everyone more spaced out. Also, we will not serve our Sunday School kids a snack on Sunday morning, acknowledging the fact that they are too young to be vaccinated and should wear masks while here.
Streaming and Zoom
- After ordering additional hardware and hours of calibrating, I believe are sound on the live stream is working well now.
I think that is it for now- God bless, and see you in church!
