Hello St. Michael’s!  I hope you are enjoying the break in the heat as much as I am.  It has made our evening dog walks so pleasant and makes me look forward to the fall even more.  I am also excited about this fall at church; the staff and I have been hard at work planning and thinking through so many options and safety guidelines.  I want to say a special thank you to Kim Curtis, she wears two hats as our Facilities person and our Sunday School coordinator, as both of these areas require a ton of work to start a program year.  She has been hard at work, including finding a new curriculum for our younger children on Sunday morning.  I am also grateful for our Youth Advisory Committee who have completed the patio at the Sturtz House with our teens, and has also began in earnest the fall programming for Bible study, mission trip, and Confirmation.  I am so grateful to serve along side of all of you working to culture and nurture the faith in our kids and young adults.  

As you all know, as a parish transitions from two clergy to one, church life transitions from something provided to you by the staff to something that church members are needed to help create.  

I always get into trouble for thanking people because I always leave out someone critical, so let me just say to you that as your rector, I am deeply grateful for all of the ways you serve this parish and come together to create our spiritual community.  If you do not currently have a place to serve, let me know and we will find it.  You truly get out what you put in.  Let’s make St. Michael’s the place to worship, serve, and give back.  

Do not forget- September 12 is our Kick Off Sunday.  Following the second service with baptisms, we will have a pig roast and some jazz music!  And keep an eye out on the upcoming events to see what and how we will be serving together this fall.
