Remembering the Departed
for All Saints' and All Souls' Day
On Sunday, November 3, you are invited to bring a framed photo of any deceased loved one to include during a Celebration of Life reception following the All Saints service in the morning. The reception will take place in the Community Room following each worship service and photos can be added to a memorial display table before or after worship. Plan to leave your photos after the morning reception and then return at 6:30 p.m. where photos will be present in the nave for the All Souls' Day service. Childcare will be available at the All Souls' 6:30 p.m. service.
The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, or All Souls' Day service, will be set to the Fauré Requiem sung by St. Michael's Choir with the St. Mark's Barrington Choir and featuring guest singers. In addition to including photos in the service, the names of deceased loved ones will be read during worship. Names may be included by printing them in the designated binder located in the narthex (front foyer) no later than October 28. Photos may be taken home following the evening worship.
Three ways to include deceased loved ones on November 3:
This is a special day to not only commemorate the Saints, known and unknown, but also to remember those loved ones who have been a part of our own lives by name and through images in a meaningful worship experience.
