In February, Bishop Jeff Lee announced that he will be retiring in 2020, and a Search and Nominations team has been formed to begin the process of nominating a new Bishop for the Diocese of Chicago. The first step in this process is a series of Listening Sessions across the diocese so that the team can create a profile reflecting who we are as a diocese, what we believe, and what we are seeking in our next bishop.
The two sessions that are nearest to St. Michael's are:
+ Saturday, August 3, 2019, 10:00 AM 11:30 AM at St Gregory's Episcopal Church, Deerfield
+ Sunday, August 18, 2019, 3:00 PM 4:30 PM at St Mark's Episcopal Church, Glen Ellyn
Ann Ryba is a member of the Search and Nominations team and will be organizing a car pool from St. Michael's for the August 18 listening session. You are heartily encouraged to attend and share your dreams for what our diocese can be, to reflect upon challenges and concerns we face and be a part of the process.
Please contact Ann at with questions, or to sign up for the car pool. We would depart from St. Michael's at 2:15 PM, and return by 5:30 PM. If you are unable to attend, but want to communicate your insight to the committee, please send those thoughts in an email to Ann.
